Joe Sweeney

Joe Sweeney began his art journey at a very early age, drawing with pencils, colored pencils, and pastels. In high school he expanded to other mediums including watercolors, oils, charcoal, pen and ink, and pottery. Military service and later family and career pulled him away from his creative endeavors, until the flame was reignited at retirement.

Joe is mostly self-taught, having taken full advantage of the resources available at our fingertips in today’s information age. He paints mostly landscapes, seascapes, and birds with watercolors, acrylics, and to a lesser extent, oils. Mountain landscapes are his favorite, recapturing memories of countless days hiking and backpacking the White Mountains and beyond.

A member of the Nashua Area Artists Association, Joe also is an active member of the Manchester Artists Association, and a former member of the Greater Salem Artists Association.
