About Jim
Jim O’Donnell is a primarily self-taught traditional landscape artist who paints landscapes and seascapes from Maine to Cape Cod in both oil and watercolor. After retirement he attended watercolor classes in Florida; when he moved back permanently to New Hampshire in 2009, he studied with local art instructors in both oils and watercolors. He is inspired Russian landscape painter Isaac Levitan and contemporary artist Mark Boedges.
Jim is a member of the Nashua Area Artists Association, the NH Plein Air Painters, Mount Washington Valley Artists Association, associate member of the NH Watercolor Society, Seacoast Area Artists, and Oil Painters of America. He is the current president of the Manchester Artists Association which awarded him Artist of the year inn 2017.
Nature gives me everything I need for inspiration: sunsets, mountains, rivers, forests, beaches, lakes, flowers or just a simple path though the countryside. My passion is to capture a mood and moment in time though light, texture, atmosphere, and color in a realistic style.
